NaTalia Johnson Conservatory and G-SEP Academy of Dance and Arts

The NaTalia Johnson Conservatory of Ballet emphasizes artistry and develops technical ability and strength.  NJC has classes for beginner-advance dancers.  Our challenging curriculum trains each dancer to use his or her muscles in a way that is both technically correct and safe.  Our pure classical ballet training allows students to develop clean lines and improve posture. Whether one desires to dance professionally or purely for personal fulfillment, our classes build self-esteem. Taught in a culturally diverse, encouraging and accepting environment by Prima Ballerina NaTalia Johnson, our dancers learn discipline and how to carry themselves with poise, grace and dignity.

Creative Movement: Creative movement is a class tailored to our 2 ½ to 6-year-old tiny dancers This class emphasizes the creative art of dance, tap and gymnastics while providing an exciting new learning environment. Class also includes use of props and activities designed to introduce dance and movement.  Skills learned and carried beyond the dance classes include communication skills, memory development, and social involvement.  Must be potty trained.

Ballet: Ballet classes are offered from a beginner level to advance children-adult. Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre and center floor work, along with across the floor combinations. Beginner classes introduce vocabulary, proper alignment, and classical ballet technique. Advanced classes include adagio and allegro work, and combinations using balance, strength, and style. In addition Pointe is offered. All students are urged to study ballet, as it is the foundation of all other dance styles and facilitates further success in these disciplines. Ballet is the leading exercise of many professional athletes ranging from football to track.

Street Jazz and Hip Hop:  Freestyle dance style and is the element of hip hop that is often seen in music videos.  Learn not only popular dances but also which dance moves are socially appropriate in a welcoming and hip environment.
